Yo...I've seen Ali maybe three or four times so far, and I still have yet to talk to him. But I damn sure appreciate the hell out of his music.

Alicia, you just told everybody that your dad was in the military.

I've carried a blade for years, but things were mad crazy around my way for some time.

Obama's cool, and I don't care anything about his makeup, but there's a lot of people out there right now talking about him being put in place to bring about the destruction of the country...Illuminati...blah blah blah. So yeah, it's out there, and it kinda sucks that some people can only focus on conspiracies and what's negative. I just want to ride it out and see what happens.

My dad isn't in the military.
Well, hopefully nobody will try to "take" me then.

Love,
Alicia

really liked this episode. ashley gold is stunning and a real talent. i thought what franz said about the connection between will smith and obama was very right on. being that identity is so important in this country i felt like barack's "our patchwork heritage is a strength, not a weakness." part of his latest speech was interesting. instead of using the typical "melting pot" analogy, he switched it up. almost as if our differences act like patches of a quilt making our country what it is...rather than forcing people to identity a certain way or assimilate all together.

My 8th grade History teacher, Mr. Cheeseman (R.I.P.) used to tell us that he couldn't stand the saying that America was a melting pot. He said that we're more like a quilt, if not a salad. We coexist with one another, but we are not all the same being.

Anyway, I want to share a laugh:
